Local inputs
Generated passwords, strength-checker input, link clues and checklist answers are processed in this page. IsThisMyIP does not send them to its server or save tool query history. The copy button writes only after you click it. Reloading clears these values.
VPN baseline
Only when you choose Save baseline, your current IP, country and observation time are kept in this tab's sessionStorage. They are not uploaded. Clear baseline removes them; closing the tab normally ends the session. Browser session restore behavior is controlled by your browser.
Optional breach checks
When you explicitly start a password breach check, five hexadecimal characters of a SHA-1 hash are sent directly to api.pwnedpasswords.com. The password and complete hash are not sent. This protocol still exposes your browser's network address to that service. External official links have their own privacy policies.
Optional network lookups
Only after you click, RDAP sends your domain and network address to the IANA directory and relevant registry, and DNS sends them to Cloudflare DNS. The IPv6 check contacts ipify. WebRTC observation contacts Cloudflare STUN and can reveal candidate addresses in this browser; it does not request a camera or microphone. IsThisMyIP does not store these lookup inputs or results, but those third parties may process requests under their own policies.
Infrastructure and commercial services
Web servers, CDNs and network providers necessarily process request metadata and may maintain operational logs. Retention and operator contact details must be confirmed before public release. Analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking and commercial lookup providers are currently disabled. We do not claim that using a browser prevents all risks.

Browser storage
If available, the language preference stores a locale code in this browser's local storage. If you choose to save a VPN comparison baseline, the IP address, available country and observation time are stored in this tab's session storage until you clear them or the browser ends the session. Browser session-restore features may affect how long session data remains. These values are not sent to IsThisMyIP by the storage feature itself.
